There are several different ways people describe “Vidyo as a Service”
Cloud based Vidyo
The essence is that Vidyo technology is being provided to an organization as a turn key package without the company having to own hardware/software and manage the technology.
Vidyo pricing. There are two primary ways Vidyo as a service is being priced in the market today:
- By user. Also referred to as by meeting room.
- By Vidyo line.
This is somewhat of an over simplification as there are many different permutations but this captures the essential difference between two very different models. Let’s take a look at each of them and point out their advantages and disadvantages.
By User or meeting room
This model is very cost effective if your organization just wants a handful of user accounts. Maybe a weekly staff meeting of less than 10 managers spread around the country or the world.
By Vidyo line
This model mirrors how concurrent software licensing works. Meaning there can be many many users at low or no cost per user but only a certain number of users may be in Vidyo calls at the same time. Think of it like lines on a telephone system. There may be 500 telephones in your company but not all 500 phones may be on external phone calls at the same time.
This model is very effective when an organization wants to fully embrace Vidyo and let all or most employees enjoy the power of visual communications from any device and or network they are using.
